Social Media Fixer Upper Content Plan

Social Media Fixer Upper Content Plan

Hello, I will be fixing up the American Payroll Association, because their content they release on social media will only attract 60+ year olds, and their memes are childish. Here is the plan that I am going to use:

·      So, I made a text only app that it’s called “Textuator” which only uses approximately 175 characters maximum (we will be testing this soon)

·      I was also able to make a picture only app and I called it “Pics R U”, and the meaning of this title is very “literate”I might add. Anything that you take a click on relating to that theme or post, will take you to one similar!

·      I made a hybrid app that is called “No Limit” because I wanted to be able to give freedom of writing and expression, because that is necessary and also be able to use images to support their story or theme.

·      For the video app, I decided to call it “Quick Cord” and the reasoning is because I want those who participate with our company to know that we are straightforward and to the point when it comes to business.

·      So, for my last video app to have a 5–7-minute restriction, and also with 4 max sentences, I decided to name it “Tube-You”. Now yes, I know what you’re thinking “oh no he stole YouTube “ hahaha…no I did not. It clearly has a different name sheesh. But trust me, this is gonna take our company right through the roof!

Unit 4 Blog 2: A GOOD OLE CHALLENGE

A Good Ole Challenge

How often do you feel you challenge yourself on a daily basis? Most will say they do often, others will say not at all, which is totally fine don’t hurt yourself over it. So, for those of you who are reading or participating in my blog today, I hope that you are ready, because I am calling you out on this today (no hard feelings I love you all)!

I live in a generation where our era is so sucked into our phones or any other devices. When we are on these devices, what is the main thing that people around the 18-23 range like to do? Well, it’s quite simple everybody loves to be on their social media, because they are so sucked and drawn into what others have going on, instead of what they have going for themselves. I cannot personally say or agree that I am one of those people, because my phone percentage usage is lower than most people in my age range for a whole week compared to them for a whole day.

My point is, we talked about challenging ourselves throughout this entire unit, and we also gave a speech that everybody did phenomenal on! I was very impressed by the challenges that people had to take on, and I remember somebody giving up their phone for the whole Spring Break (God Bless you because I couldn’t and would never trust somebody that much). For me personally, I did the “Get Bored” challenge that was presented by Manoush Zomorodi, and mines was quite simple and complex.

For my challenge, all I had to do was find something to think about, which was very easy for me to do, and set aside 30 minutes free from distraction. This challenge was supposed to be the most challenging one, but then again it really depends on the person and how mentally weak that person is when it comes to needing their phone for reassurance. I will not describe what I thought about for those 30 minutes, because honestly it was quite personal, so I rather not share, but I felt better later the day after this challenge.

Why did I choose to do this challenge you ask? Well considering that I was going through some stuff involving school, I felt this was a perfect opportunity to get a long 30 minutes of no distractions and long yoga to better my inner thoughts and the inner body. I did have to restart this challenge due to calls coming from my family, which I needed to answer due to critical times, but I was ok with that.

My reasoning for talking about this is because I want to challenge you, the reader, to this same exact challenge. I am not a huge fan of the other challenges, and that is me saying that only because I didn’t do any of them 😊. But seriously, I think if you are up for it that you should try it out and give it a shot.

To conclude, I talked about the 30-minute challenge that I had to face and broke it down and analyzed the best way to be able to do this challenge. My overall long-term goal was to try to make you, as the reader, expand out of your comfort zone and really try something that you may not be familiar with, which is okay because nobody is judging you, but instead helping you experiment.

Unit 4 Blog 1: My Distraction

My Biggest Distraction

Good evening, everyone, I am excited to talk about my biggest distraction in this next blog post, and I hope that you all find it interesting and also are shocked by it as well. Before I get into this, what do you think my biggest distraction is going to be? I can let you know up front that it does NOT pertain to basketball for once! How about we just get into it?

So, my biggest distraction is (drumroll please) …POETRY! Now I am really hoping for those of you who don’t know me that this catches you all by surprise, which is my goal because not many know about my true secret talent. To add on to that, I am also a song writer (not a singer let’s not get it confused please), and I enjoy doing both frequently. Somewhere in this blog I am going to place one of my poems in here, so that you can give me an honest rating on it!

Why is this my biggest distraction you may ask? Well, I am glad you asked, because growing up I started doing this at a very young age, and I will credit my mom because she is the one who taught me overall how to write properly, even though I learned mostly by myself (I have to give her some credit because she thinks I disrespect her when I say that ha-ha)!

Also, poetry has always helped me to take my mind off things, because I have talked about this in another post before, but it helps me to relieve things out of my mind and gives me breath of fresh air that I don’t always feel able to breathe freely. Often, I would find myself slacking because sometimes I would get tired of having to come up with new and different ideas daily, so I can say I was lacking motivation.

In the worst way possible, I once again found motivation to want to continue being consistent with my work again after the passing of my uncle. When I lost my uncle back in 2009, I also lost a part of me, and it left a deep black hole that I felt I was falling through. I wrote a poem for him before his funeral that I was going to share at that time, but I always kept it to myself because it was sacred work to me in a way. I realized that my poetry had an impact on others just as much or more than it did for me, and I immediately knew that I needed to share with those who were dealing with similar situations in life, to help them get through trials and obstacles in their life.

To conclude, I have made an impact on many others using my distraction, versus letting social media be my distraction. If I was to go down that road and path, I don’t think I would have molded into the character that I am today, that guy who is always there for others to make sure that they are well and have no worries or regrets after reading my message, which is deeper than life itself.

Unit 3 Blog 2: Athletes vs Themselves

Athletes vs. Themselves

Hello, you who are reading this right now! I’m Keiman, and I am back with another blog post, but this time I will be talking about athletes versus themselves. Now that may confuse you right now, but I promise in the end you will understand what I am saying.

The example that I will be using to explain and identify my topic today is NBA star Ja Morant, who is a point guard for the Memphis Grizzlies. He is an amazing basketball player, and more importantly an amazing human overall. He originates from South Carolina, where he grew up in the SUBURBS (no reason I capitalized this) and lived in a TWO PARENT HOUSEHOLD (sorry just thought I would emphasize this some more). Now that is out of the way, so let’s continue, shall we?

Now please do not let me lose you, because you are probably highly confused trying to figure out “what the heck is this guy babbling about” as if I were that one teacher you didn’t like back in grade school, but I promise it is all worth it. Now to get into why I’m using what seems like a well-behaved NBA player with everything going his way, it’s time you know the story. So, this was following a game that Ja Morant and his team had just played in Denver, which was a tough road game that they got blown out in (which is why the Lakers are better by the way). Now after most players just finished losing a game and take a loss, they are right back in the gym, or most of the time upset with how they played and how they played as a team, which makes them want to go even harder next game…right Ja Morant?

Well, I guess Ja Morant didn’t agree with me on that topic originally. I think I should have mentioned that this guy is a huge social media outlet, as he has gained over millions of followers dating back to his days in college basketball to now, and because of the image that he represents himself to be. What is this image, you may ask? Well as I said he is a good young kid that is still learning, but social media is probably going to be his only downfall that can stop him. After he returned to the team hotel, he left to go have fun at a nightclub and drink with some friends and the people of the club. He was very intoxicated and even went live to show his fans just how much fun he was having, which is great right?! Sadly, I would like to say that is not the case in this discussion.

While on Instagram live, he was seen waving a gun around on the camera while he was still on live, and whether it was a prop or not was never answered, but regardless many people seen this and shared the video around quickly to their social media, and this led to immediate consequences for the young star from the NBA. He was indefinitely suspended from the NBA until further notice and received a fat $500,000 fine for violating NBA rules of conduct, but eventually was able to return after missing 12 games in the regular season. He was blessed that he was found innocent of carrying a firearm on an NBA team plane, because it could have been significantly bad for him.

To conclude, I chose to talk athletes versus themselves, because as you can see one small mistake can cost you anything. Ja could have lost his entire career off one dumb mistake that he made at this young age of his, but he was blessed by the Grace of God that nothing severe happened to him. I hope all athletes, including myself, can stay out of trouble moving forward when it comes to social media involvement.

Unit 3 Blog 1: Payback

https://th.bing.com/th/id/OIP.Z8c6GVtaetPEroAJCWdaKgHaE7?w=279&h=186&c=7&r=0&o=5&pid=1.7

Pay-Back-Is-Great

“Payback is a dish that is best served cold”! HAHAHA, how many times have you heard that punchline before? I love it when people say that, because they just assume that’s all payback is, which is just not right at all. There is two ways to define payback, with the first way being to seek or get revenge on somebody or a group, with an example of going after the thief who stole your money, or even that one kid at school who has always picked on you until you were taller and bigger and now, he is scared. Then we have my definition, which is even better to do and what we will be talking about today, which is paying somebody back mentally, physically, emotionally, or spiritually. Now will I cover those specific topics one by one? Of course not, you are only reading this because you found my blog in the junk mail, but I am happy that you decided to stop by today!
So, now that we knocked that out the way, how important do you think it is to pay somebody back? What I have done personally is conducted my own little experiment into that, so it was pretty simple for how I did what I had to do. I have many people who I claim as my friends, because I love all and I hope that all love me. But often times, I find myself to be the friend that is always giving to others, whether it be a physical item such as money, or even a controller or some paper, which I never ask for anything in return, but I do ask that they can return that favor me someday eventually.

Am I wrong for going about that process this way? I sure hope that y’all with let me know if you come across this. So, what I did to experiment was ask different friends if I could borrow something, and if they said yes, I would simply ask if I needed to pay them back. I know this sounds like a sketchy thing to do, but it was meant to put them in an uncomfortable situation to get a true answer from them and let’s just say I was impressed.

So, I wanted to keep the numbers evened out, so I only asked 16 of my friends, even ones that I am not as close with. Out of all 16 friends, only 4 of them asked if I could pay them back whatever I had borrowed, which was shocking to me as well. When they answered this, I simply asked if there was a time limit for which I needed to, which they all said no because they trust me. Now with the other 12 friends, I asked why they not wanted me to owe them or pay them back, and they basically all said that I was a great friend, who never asks for anything and am always willing to help and give to others, which made me happy with sad tears of joy.

To best conclude this blog, I would like to say to not be selfish with others, and to give love peace and positivity in everything that you do. God gave us another chance at life when he could have completely ended the Earth, but he didn’t ask for anything back in return expect for us to praise and worship his name, and also live the way that he has directed us into doing so that we continue to prosper.

Unit 2 Blog 2: Stop Posting Irrelevant Posts

A True Love Story

https://static.fanpage.it/wp-content/uploads/sites/6/2020/11/addison-rae-bryce-hall.jpg

Hi everybody, it’s Keiman again back with another blog post. So, during this unit, we really started getting hugely into social media and how it is used to tell stories or people’s personal life that is going on.  Often, we tend to get caught up so much in it that I think we personally tell way too much of our personal life that we have going on and I really do not understand why. I started thinking of this topic when we first started discussing blog posts, and felt it was only right to talk about how often we see break ups on social media, and I am going to give my honest input on it. The reason I wanted to mention this is because it was apart of one of the discussions that we had in class with Dr. Vrooman, and he wasn’t pointing out marriage specifically, but he did talk about how people are just constantly telling their business. I want to know some of your thoughts on this topic as well, but how many times have we hopped on social media apps such as YouTube or TikTok or even Twitter, and were following some type of huge celebrity right? Now if you can think of anyone specifically, please let me know for sure, but an old couple that immediately came to mind from TikTok was Bryce Hall and Addison Rae. The reason that I considered them is because they were together for a good period after they both blew up all over social media, specifically starting with TikTok, which is how they even got together. Everybody always viewed them as this amazing power couple, even trying their hardest to be just like them (which is very cringe to me because you should always want to be yourself and be better than the person you look up to). With all that being said, I will openly admit that I used to be one of those people as well, because I was an original follower of Addison Rae because she was very chill and also a very uplifting person, and was really taking over the entire TikTok industry, which was good for her! But in all honesty, I think here getting a boyfriend at that early of the time was really the worst mistake possible, because Bryce Hall comes off as this really cool chill guy, but in all reality, he is not really much of a good guy. When they were going through hard times, he would constantly go on rants on social media about Addison, but not in a positive manner that was appropriate for not only their fans, but also for a woman like Addison Rae. It was very frustrating as a human and as a fan and supporter, because he would just constantly bash her throughout their time being together when stuff wasn’t going right in their relationship, which just wasn’t fair to Addison at all. But the one thing that Bryce Hall would fail to realize is that social media can be very toxic, and there were many fans and supporters of Addison calling him out and confronting him for his bad judgement against Addison, and I was all for it. He also failed to realize that nobody really gives a crap, because he is a sucky dude who only cares about himself and what makes him happy. My whole point of talking about this specific situation is because it was only about a year ago when this constantly developed, and it just annoys me knowing that he would keep posting about his relationship more than giving his supports what they desire the most, which was what made him well known and famous when blowing up on TikTok.

The art of noticing is really an art!

Creativity comes and many forms but who would have thought that it’s been all around us. The activity I did based on this concept from the book “The Art of Noticing” by Rob Walker made me realize that there is a strong power in being able to notice things. Clearing your mind sometimes comes with realizing your surroundings and this really does help with creativity. To learn how to write, draw, or participate in any kind of art you have to notice the little things. Here we will look at how observation, slowing down, and noticing is key to coming up with ideas and executing them well.

Being observant is a trained skill that you can have natural or develop. Sometimes it is hard to pay attention and be present with what we see. It is important to practice being observant not only for the purposes of art but also for the purposes of safety! You can be out in public and be in danger if you don’t pay attention. I think it is safe to say to be more observant you should limit your distractions, phones included. Pay attention to the people in your environment and ask yourself questions about what you see. This can be a great way to help you observe the area you are in. Don’t limit yourself to people but this can be done with just about anything. If you are outside look at the plants, at a shopping mall then look at the stores. Observation is about expanding your mind from the thoughts in your head into your environment.

The next thing that can help us increase our ability to notice things is to practice slowing down. When you slow down you also analyze how something is making you feel. The world we live in is in a constant rush which makes us feel like we have to speed ahead as well. Slowing down is not only a great coping skill for people who deal with anxiety, but it is also a great way to help you overcome pressure to keep up with the world. To slow down you have to let go of the idea that you should be doing something. Let go and relax. It is okay to practice doing nothing sometimes. You don’t have to take every opportunity that comes toward you, it is okay to just be in that moment. You don’t have to live in a constant state of being productive. If you use this idea of slowing down in life you might be able to find yourself being more creative.

Lastly, I will dive into the art of noticing, which is essential, the art of paying attention to your surroundings. Noticing things takes both a mixture of slowing down and observing. The challenge that I did out of the book was to simply look out of a window. During my time looking out the window for ten minutes I found myself seeing so many little things I never took the time to see before. This taught me that slowing down and observing helps you not only relax but also find beauty in the mundane. I felt like the corners of my window were weel made that whoever built them took pride in their craftsmanship. The trees that I have seen a million times I started to wonder about them.

There are multiple benefits that come out of the art of noticing. Being able to notice things unlocks wonder within us. The benefits that come with this are slowing down just enough to relax but also leading to creativity. Paying attention is essential to what the art of noticing is about, which in turn can lead to you having a better sense of safety. You can also use this skill to develop deeper connections not only with your surroundings but also with the people in your life, growing a better appreciation for the small things.
