What
I guess is the main goal for this blog post is to combine what we learned from
both days that we learned about Designing for spread ability while the other is
for Engagement in social media. I guess the best way to do this is to bring up examples
of what we learned from both and try to make sense of both together as one
thing as I'm sure they both can't exist without the other if my sources are
correct. For example, if a company did a good job of advertising a new
product so that its funny and relatable a lot of people will want to buy it
because the advertisement for it is funny and made them laugh, and there’s
nothing wrong with that!!!!! But I just find it fun how that’s how it just
works like that that the way a product can insure its success is that its funny
and therefore gets widespread by millions of people gaining more exposure.
Which is something so interesting to take from this, that social media has made
it to its point that its not only a large social hang out but a breeding ground
for advertisements and exposure. That’s why things like that are so good for
companies, social media makes it so much more easier for a product to get known
because of spread ability and paying people to advertise for companies too,
like how sponsors support youtubers and you will always see their brand before
a video starts. Also with a promise of a deal the subscribers to that youtuber
will use that product , that’s not even mentioning how a youtuber can have a
large audience to have their product be known as well. That in itself can count as engagement because
people get to see the ad and spread it. Now the other engagement I want to
discuss is the engagement of taking part in social media even commenting on a
photo that you liked or replying to a direct message you’re engaging in social
media! Engagement even relates to a older topic we went over a week ago about
Mead and how we shape our personalities by our interactions online and much
like engagement relates to how our interactions because who do we engage with
because of our personalities and we also decide who we surround with based on
those two things as well which is really important to consider given the topics.
There’s no way you’d find someone who likes comics with someone who doesn’t
even watch TV, or you would but that’s a rare case. In any case Engagement and
Spread ability is something heavily powered in social media because marketers
and people who use the internet everyday engage with both everyday given a
normal instance. The internet would probably be a whole lot barren and boring
without those two elements but I can’t imagine a world without it unless you’re
in a area where the internet is monitored and controlled but in this case its
not.
